As one of over 60 Koch Summer Fellows, you will have a unique opportunity to work with top policy experts, journalists, and academics. You will explore market-based solutions to critical social and economic problems and gain the skills necessary to effect policy change.
Your summer will begin with an opening seminar at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. There, you will get to know the other members of the program and enjoy a crash course on market-based policy analysis and its intellectual foundations.
After the seminar, you will begin an eight-week internship. You will work with one of the many research institutes developing market solutions to today's critical policy problems or at a public interest law firm defending economic and political liberties. If you are part of our State-Based Fellow Program you will be heading to your state-based think tank to work on developing state-level policy solutions. If you are participating in our Nonprofit Leadership Fellow Program, you will be starting your 8-week management apprenticeship at a nonprofit organization in DC.
Throughout the summer, you will attend lectures, panels, and small group discussions on current policy topics. You will also gain invaluable skills through research and writing projects and career workshops. The summer will end with a second week-long seminar, giving you the opportunity to present the results of your research to your peers while further developing your professional skills.

In one summer, the Koch Summer Fellow Program can give you the real-world experience you need in today's competitive job market.
